Erosion caused by water Install silt fence check dams at 50'± running long distances intervals. across / along fairways NARRATIVE The purpose of this project is to construct an 18—Hole Executive Par 60 Golf Course. The property has been owned and farmed by one family for three generations and, over that time, three major housing projects have been developed around it. Each of these developments has, in one way or another, indirectly hindered farming on the property. The owner of the property has looked at doing a housing project, but it is their desire to keep the property in "Open Space". The Town of South Windsor Open Space Master Plan has identified this parcel as one they would like preserved as Open Space. In addition, the Town has identified a need for additional recreation areas — hence, this project evolved. Work will begin in the fall of 2001, target completion date August 2002, with the clearing and stumping of trees and removal of four tobacco sheds on the site. Silt fence will be installed according to plans prior to beginning. Construction of fairways, tees and greens will begin with holes 1,2,5 and 6 in order to get the area near environmentally sensitive places stabilized. Seeding to follow each hole as completed. Double rows of silt fence will be installed along steeper slopes adjacent to wetlands, temporary sedimentation basins constructed, silt fence check dams placed at 50'f intervals in drainage swales and drainage pipes installed in selected sedimentation basins to carry water down the slopes, preventing erosion. As additional protection, specific grass seed mix has been specified for the steep slope and plantings are proposed along y� the wood line. Changes to E&S Control measures will be instituted as field conditions dictate, in coordination with Town o� staff. F� Prior to winter shutdown, any areas without grass cover will be seeded with a temporary cover crop. During this time, the driving range teaching area, clubhouse, maintenance building and parking lot will be constructed. Silt fence will be installed before any work is done. Prior to constructing the parking lot, the stormwater level spreader will be built and used as a sedimentation basin. Once the paving is done, the basin will be cleaned and planted. Existing trees within the driving range area will be transplanted and used as a buffer along Brookfield Street, around the parking lot and throughout the golf course.
