RE: Drinking water sampling results
Dear Mr. or Mrs. Gerber:
Enclosed are the results of the drinking water samples collected water from an outside
spigot by staff from the Remediation Division of the Bureau of Water Protection and
Land Reuse ("the Department") on April 1, 2008.
Staff from the Department sampled your potable well to determine the quality of
groundwater in your neighborhood with regards to a release from a neighboring home
heating fuel tank. The samples collected were submitted to the Connecticut Department
of Public Health (CT DPH) laboratory and were analyzed for volatile organic compounds
(VOCs) using EPA Method 524.2.
The analytical results indicated that the VOCs were non detect.
The Department therefore considers your drinking water supply potable with regards to
the VOCs that were analyzed.
If you have any questions or comments please contact me at (860) 424-3796.
Sincerely,
MaryAnne Danyluk

RE: Drinking water sampling results
Dear Mr. Coleman:
May 1, 2008
Enclosed are the results of the drinking water samples collected at raw and treated ports by staff
from the Remediation Division of the Bureau of Water Protection and Land Reuse ("the
Department") on April 1, 2008.
Staff from the Department sampled your potable well to determine the quality of groundwater in
your neighborhood as the result of a release from a neighboring home heating fuel tank. The
samples collected were submitted to the Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH)
laboratory and were analyzed for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using EPA Method 524.2.

The Department therefore considers the raw water from your potable well to contain low
concentrations of home heating fuel compounds. The treated water is considered potable with
respect to the parameters that were analyzed.
Your treatment system will be resampled in three months from the date of this letter. If you have
any questions or comments please contact me at (860) 424-3796.
Sincerely,
