Dear Mel:
The results obtained from the percolation test
conducted by your firm on October 25,1 2 at the proparty
of Joyce and John F. Jurgelas Jr. onThapel Road, South
Windsor are tabulated below. The test hole shall be refer-
enced and designated as to location on your plot of the
premises.
The test hole, 12 inches in diameter and 30 inches
deep, was excavated, and a peg set at a height of 18 inches
from the bottom of the hole. The hole was filled with water
up to the peg and the rate of drawdown recorded as shown in
the second tabulation.

The above percolation test results shorn the site to
have from ritdiva to slow relative absorption characteristics
to a depth of 18 inches below the surface. It should be pointed
eat that the poor absorption indicated at a depth greater than
18 inches below the surface is undoubtedly due, in large part,
to the blockage of the soil porosity at those depths by colloidal
clay particles filtered out of the water and onto the pit wa'Us.
In a properly constructed leaching field this condition should
not be duplicated.
