Re: Connection to Public Water
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Butler:
As you know, Modified Water Supply Order WC-4458 and Water Supply Order
WC-4949 has afforded you the opportunity for your residence to connect to the Public
Water Supply. A review of our files indicates that you have not taken advantage of this
opportunity. If we are incorrect, we would appreciate it if you would contact us and assist
us with updated information. If you have not taken advantage of this opportunity I would
like to remind you that the State requires three bids from three separate contractors
approved by the local water utility. An itemized statement from each contractor should
state their fee for the work proposed to connect a private residence to public water which
includes the following requirements:
1. Cost for the abandonment of the well based on Consumer Protection's guidelines.
2. Cost for lateral connection to the residence from the water main.
3. Three Linear frontage fee to be waived.
4. Cost for the meter horn.
5. Cost for the interior plumbing conducted inside the residence.
6. Reseeding the lawn and returning the property to its original state.
7. Any permits and fees required by the contractor.
The State will choose the contractor to conduct the work. Upon approval of the work
proposal the State contacts the property owner to notify the selected contractor to do the
work.

The three contractors you should contact are Folsom Construction, Olender Construction,
and Wood Construction. When you have obtained the bids please forward them to this
office for review.
Failure to respond within ten 10 days of receipt of this correspondence will be
interpreted as a "no" answer, that you do not wish to be connected to the public
water.
If you have any questions, I can be reached at 860-644-2511, extension 248
Very truly yours,
Robert De Vito, R.S.
