DESCRIPTION OF WORK: 26'x 37' free standing PT wooden two level deck first level approx 24" from elevation second level approx 4'6"from
elevation (division TBD). Deck will be built around a portion of (see drawing)*1 existing above ground pool; a PT frame of 2"x8" will be built on
PT 4x4 post that sit in 4"x4" strong tie brackets set on a 10"sonna tube that are dug below elevation no less than 42" and filled with quikrete
ready mix concrete mixed at 9 pt water per 80 lbs bag per quikrete recommendation. The frame will sit on PT 2"x8" and or 2x10 beams (see
drawing)*2 that will be constructed by nailing two together crown up with hot dipped galvanized 12 penny nails in a staggered pattern (see
drawing)*3. A PT 2"x8"frame will be conventional frame at 12"oc joist will hang crown up from simpson strong tie specific for said lumber with
strong tie nails 1 1/2" in ledger/rim joist and 2 1/2" through joist to ledger/rim joist. A composite deck and railing will be installed on siad frame.
Decking will be 5 1/4 " wide in lengths appropriate to space applied with #9 grip rite screws 2 1/2" polymer plated specific to exposed fastener
decking system. two fasteners per joist at every joist. Railing system/kit will be in 6' or 8' sections 36"from decking to top of top rail. connected
to PT 4"x4"in a PVC sleeve. Spindles will be spaced at no more than 4". And finally stair and gate procedure. An up to 4' wide stair case will be
built on first level deck to reach second level (see drawing) *4 using PT 2"x12" stringer no more than 7 1/4"in rise and no less than 8 1/4 in
run. Railing and hand rail constructed in same fashion as common railings to add a grabbable hand rail on one side at 32". A second stair case
will be built from ground level to reach first level of deck placement TBD constructed in same fashion. A self latching gate will be installed at
sole entrance to deck specific location TBD.
