Location: 35 Breezy Hill Drive, South Windsor
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Jeram:
In response to a visit to this office by Mrs. Jeram inquiring about starting a
dog day care business at your home at 35 Breezy Hill Drive. I contacted
you by telephone on July 6, 2016 and informed you that a dog day
care/boarding business would not be permitted in a residential zone.
Since your inquiry, I have received two complaints regarding this ongoing
business. Additionally, it was discovered that you are advertising this
business on the Rover.com web site.
CORRECTIVE ACTION REQUIRED: Cease the dog day care and boarding
business at your home immediately.
This type of business is permitted in the Industrial zone by Special Exception
approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Any permit request is
subject to meeting the requirements of the zoning regulations.
The State of Connecticut also regulates dog day care facilities as kennels.
If you find an appropriate location to run this business and get approval in
South Windsor, you will have to obtain a kennel license from the
Connecticut Department of Agriculture, Animal Control Division.
Your immediate cooperation in this matter is appreciated. If you have any
questions, please contact me at (860) 644-2511, ext. 251 .
Sincerely,
Pamela A. Oliva, CZEO

Re: Dog fostering at 35 Breezy Hill Drive
Dear Mr.-& Mrs. Jeram:
In response to your request, and the information provided in your email,
the Town is satisfied that fostering one (1) dog at a time in your home, with
no monetary exchange conforms with the activities allowed under zoning
in a residential neighborhood.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (860) 644-2511, ext. 251 .
Sincerely,
