Re: Home based business
Dear Mr. Tomasiewicz;
I have received several complaints about your property at 1747 John Fitch
Boulevard, asking whether there is a landscaping business being run from
that location. On numerous occasions when I have gone by your
property, I have seen commercial lawn mowers on trailers and other
commercial equipment and materials stored on site.
While the zoning regulations for the Town of South Windsor allows a
resident to operate a minor home occupation business out of their home
in Section 7. 11 Home Occupations, the business must meet the criteria
specified in the regulations and the permit. In general, landscaping
businesses are not allowed in a residential zone.
In addition, the zoning regulations in Section 3.2. 1B Commercial Vehicles
allows no more than one commercial vehicle is allowed to be parked on
a residential lot, provided the vehicle is a van or pick-up truck. A copy of
the relevant sections of the regulations is included for your review.

Please remove all of the commercial vehicles, materials and equipment
from your property by November 30, 2017. If you wish to operate a
business at this site, please complete and submit the application,
demonstrating compliance with the zoning regulations by November 30,
2017. If there is no home business, please send me a letter certifying that.
