Re: Commercial vehicles at 2880 Ellington Rd, South Windsor CT
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Steinmetz:
This office has received complaints and gone by your property at 2880
Ellington Road, and has seen several commercial vehicles stored there.
Section 3.2. 1B Commercial Vehicles of the Town Zoning regulations only
allows one commercial vehicle to be parked on residential property
provided such vehicle is a van or pick-up type vehicle. A copy of the
regulation is included for your review. It also appears that most if not all of
these vehicles are not registered to this property. The Town Blight
Ordinance defines blight as one or more unregistered motor vehicles
(including trailers) in the public view. A copy of the ordinance is also
included.
Please remove the commercial vehicles and any unregistered vehicles
from your property by February 19, 2018 to avoid enforcement action by
this office. You can contact me at (860) 644-2511, extension 251 if you
have any questions. Thank you for your prompt attention to this request.
Sincerely,

Mr. & Mrs. Mark Steinmetz

Location: 2880 Ellington Road, South Windsor
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Steinmetz:
I sent you a letter on February 7, 2018 regarding the presence of
numerous commercial vehicles on your property at 2880 Ellington Road.
You were advised that the Town of South Windsor does not allow this type
of commercial vehicles to be parked on a residential property, and
requested to remove the trucks by February 19, 2018. You were also
notified that the unregistered vehicles constituted blight under the Town
Blight Ordinance.
A site inspection today, April 3, 2018 showed that the vehicles are still
parked on your property. The continued presence of these commercial
vehicles is a violation of Section 3.2. 1B Commercial Vehicles of the Zoning
Regulations, as well as a violation of Section 3(g) of the Blight Ordinance
(copies of each are attached).
CORRECTIVE ACTION REQUIRED: Remove the commercial vehicles by
April 20, 2018 to avoid additional enforcement action and daily penalties
of one hundred ($100) dollars by this office.
Your immediate cooperation in this matter is appreciated. If you have
any questions, please contact me at (860) 644-2511, ext. 251 .

Re: Unpermitted shed at 2880 Ellington Rd, South Windsor CT
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Steinmetz:
This office has been observing your property at 2880 Ellington Road for
some time now, based on complaints related to unregistered commercial
vehicles. In going by the property Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 1 observed a
shed on the property serving as a garage for a pick-up truck. After
reviewing the Town files, I found that there was no permit taken put for the
shed. Please be advised that this is a violation of Section 3.1 .2A of the
Town zoning regulations, a copy of which is attached for your use.
Please submit a building permit for the shed demonstrating compliance
with the appropriate setbacks by June 25, 2018 or remove the shed to
avoid enforcement action by this office.
At the same time, unregistered commercial vehicles are still present on
the property, a violation of both the zoning regulations and the Town
Blight Ordinance. Please remove the vehicles by June 29, 2018 or a blight
lien with the associated one hundred ($100) dollar per day lien will be filed
against the property. You can contact me at (860) 644-2511, extension
251 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
