Re: Future In-law apartment
Dear Mr. Campos:
It has come to my attention that you may be considering building a new
in-law apartment at your property on 578 Ellington Road. Please be
aware that the Town of South Windsor regulates in-law apartments
through its' Zoning Regulations. You will be required to submit an
application to the Planning & Zoning Commission for approval prior to
obtaining a building permit.
Section 7. 1.2 Accessory Apartments outlines the criteria for applying for a
permit, and Section 7. 1.4 Detached In-Law and Accessory Apartments
has requirements the detached structure must meet. Copies of the
relevant regulations and a permit application have been included for
your use. As a reminder, only family members may reside in an In-law
apartment.
If you decide to add an in-law apartment to your property, please
complete and submit the enclosed permit application. You can contact
