Dear Mr. Collins.
During the construction of a residence at the above lot, the footing/foundation was over-excavated
by 3 feet.
T have been informed that the condition of excavated material is satisfactory fora residential
foundation. The contractor asked for alternates to pouring the new footing at the lower elevation
which would require considerably more concrete. 'lb accommodate the condition, the final fl(x)r
elevation will be adjusted 1 foot lower which will require approximately 2 feet of fill material in
the excavation.
Two inch diameter crushed stone shall be placed in the over-excavated portion up to final bottom
of footing elevation. The stone should be placed in approximately S" layers, Ughtly laniped. This
will provide a satisfactory bearing condition for the building foundation.
The foundations will be structurally satisfactory with the above work.
Very truly yours,
