SWIMMING POOL REQUIREMENTS:
This list is not all inClvsive;please refer to pool packot.
A 48"barrier will be provided to protect the pool access. Including a temporary fence
for inground pools prior to filling.
Access gates will be selfclosing and self latching(if less than 54"high they shall be on
the pool side and be protected within 18"of release mechanism).
Doors providing direct access to the pool shall either have an alarm,a self closing self
latching device 54"above the floor.or a safety cover over the pool.
0 No receptacles within 10'of pool.(locking type receptacle for pool equipment must be
at least 5'from pnnl And(_KI protected)_
a All Ynetal parts of pool structure,fixed metal parts within 5'of pool,pump motors etc.,
shall be bonded with a miniruirn 08 solid copper wire.
Convenience GFCI receptacle shall be provided between 10'and 20'from pool
O Trench depth for 20 amp.circuit to pool equipment shall be 12"mmirrn m_
A surfacc pool alarm siaall be installed pursuant to Public Act 99-140.
D All swimming pool pumps nntst be equipped with a time clock.
Heated pools require a pool cower unless over 201/o of the beating energy is from non-depletable,sources.

Ttie following is a list of•inspections that need to be performed prior to the continuation ofwork. Requests for
inspections can be made by calling the Building Department at 644-2311 ext 230.
1. TRENCH AND BONDING-Electrical trenich depth verification and bonding of pool and metal appuc cnaaces
including metal reinforcing for gtmite pools.
2. FTNAL ELECI'RICAI,-Location ofequipment and GFCI protection. Convenience outlet provided.
3. FINAL-Swiauning pool access protection must be provided before pool can be used.
Each swims pool installation re4uires a Building and an Blectximl permit Additional permits and inspections
are required for pool decks.
