Engineering Review
Please find attached the SEA engineering review. Additionally,
the following comments are noteworthy:
1 . Limits of construction should be shown.
2 . Spot elevations needed along parking areas especially in
corners and near building.
3 . The proposal overflow/swale system sheet 3 (YD #1) is not
acceptable.
4 . Per SEA comments, specifics as to design/function of
galleries is needed.
5 . Planting at cul-de-sac do not appear to be realistic since
majority of snow from cul-de-sac will be placed in that
location.
6 . In a number of locations work is proposed around sanitary
sewer manholes, however, no notes or methods for raising
structures have been provided.
7 . Pavement detail needed.
8 . Gallery detail needed.
9 . Structures (CB) , pipe detai-Is needed.
10 . Additional catch basin at entrance drive needed.
11 . Access to doors on northeast and southeast sides of
building is limited because of pavement and parking limits .

DRAINAGE REPORT
BIDWELL ROAD LOT #b
Smith Automatic Sprinkler
EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS
The site is currently a vacant lot located in an industrial
area of South Windsor , Connecticut . Site terrain is
moderately sloping to level , draining towards the east . The
site is devoid of large trees and lacks significant ground
cover in many areas. There is little, if any, topsoil on
most areas of the site. The site soil is fine to medium
sandy loam.
Due to the very permeable soil conditions, little runoff
occurs for storms of frequent occurrence. For larger
magnitude storms, runoff from the site would appear to be
non-channelized shallow flow onto the adjoining properties
to the north and east .
PROPOSED SITE CONDITIONS
There is no detention proposed for this site. This is due
to the location of the site west of Rte. , and the
availability of adequate hydraulic capacity in the existing
stormwater system. The site storm water facilities
themselves were designed to accommodate a storm with a Ten
year return frequency. The rational method was used to
determine runoff.
