Please be advised that the Public Hearing in the above
matter has been scheduled for October 11 , 1983 , at 8 : 00 P . M.
in the Council Chambers of the South Windsor Town Hall .
A sign advertising the hearing must be posted on the property ,
and must be clearly visible from the road, for 10 consecutive
days prior to the hearing (by September 30) . The sign,
which has already been paid for , may be picked up at the Town
Hall .

TOWN OF SOUTH WINDSOR
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
Notice is hereby given that there will be a public hearing
of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday, October 11 , 1983 ,
at 8 : 00 P . M. in the Council Chambers of the South Windsor Town
Hall , 1540 Sullivan Avenue , South Windsor, to consider the
following:
1 . Application of Susan Havens for a Special Exception to
Section 4 . 1 . 8C to permit an educational institution operated
for profit at 118 Oakland Road, RR zone .
2. Application of South Ridge Estates , Inc . for a resubdivision
of 9 lots located north of Old Farm Road , and west of Abbe
Road, being Section V of South Ridge Estates , an open space
resubdivision in an RR zone .
3 . Application of Herman Maskel for a 3 lot resubdivision at the
southerly end of Maskel Road , in an A-,30 zone .
Copies of these applications and maps more clearly defining the
properties are on file in the Office of the Town Clerk of the
Town of South Windsor . At this hearing interested persons may
appear and be heard and written recommendations will be received .

Please be advised that the Planning & Zoning Commission votedlastnighttoapprovetheaboveapplicationforaSpecial
Exception to Section 4. 1. 8c to permit an educational institution
at 118 Oakland Road, RR zone, as well as the site plan of
development prepared by Page Engineering, Inc. , dated 9/19/83,
Project 83-007, subject to the following conditions :
1. Evidence of approval from the State of Connecticut concerning
quality and adequacy of the water system must be furnished
to this Commission prior to the issuance of a certificate of
Occupancy.
2. Signs must be installed on both sides of Oakland Road indicatingthatthereisaschoolinthearea.
3. The sign advertising the business must be located so that it
does not interfere with sightlines.
4 . Shrubbery and underbrush along Oakland Road at the front of
the site, as shown on the site plan, must be removed and the area
shall be cleared, stabilized, loamed and seeded.
A 24" x 36" black and white transparent mylar skull be submitted
to this Commission to be stamped and signed, and must be filed in
the Town Clerk' s Office no later than January 9 , 1984 .

At the October 11, 1983 meeting the Planning and Zoning Commission
voted to take the following action:
1. Approve, with modifications, the application of Susan Havens
for a special exception to Section 4. 1. 8C to permit an
educational institution operated for profit at 118 Oakland
Road, RR zone.
