Dear Sirs,
Please find enclosed our application for a Modification of the State Building Code with
respect to the installation of our patented 02 Safe Oxygen storage vessel at the above
facility. You will see that we also enclose supporting drawings and information for the
modification.
There has recently been some confusion as to the appropriate regulations governing the
storage of oxygen in Connecticut Health facilities, which resulted in detailed analysis of the
relative benefits and disadvantages of the various regulatory systems. Our particular
system complies with and exceeds the safety requirements of NFPA 99 and offers
significant safety advantages over existing storage systems, which would otherwise be
governed by BOCA regulations. As a result The State of Connecticut Department of
Public Safety and The State Building Inspectors Office has decided that to avoid further
confusion and to encourage an improvement in public safety the 02 Safe system should be
installed and maintained in compliance with NFPA 99, this to be documented by a
modification to the State Building code.
In order to ensure that each town in which our system is installed is aware ofthe agreed
variation in the applicable standards we have undertaken to submit the modification
applications for our existing and future installations, which will result in the modification
to the State code being recorded.
