Dear Homeowners,
On August 21, 2017, the Town of South Windsor Health Department, received a
complaint concerning the above referenced property owned by you. I made a visit to
your home on August 21, 2017 in an attempt to discuss this matter. The complainant
reported the following:
Property owners of 160 Pine Tree Lane are not using the above ground pool on their
property and have not fully drained the water. The neighbors are concerned about
the standing water offering a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other bugs.
The public health code section 19-13-b1 (g) states that "stagnant water likely to afford
breeding places for mosquitoes within a residential district" is a condition that
specifically is declared to constitute a public nuisance. The pool must either be
maintained or properly abandoned if not being used by September 8, 2017.
