Dear Mr.Feaser:
I am writing this letter in reference to the existing septic system on the above listed
property. The following information is applicable in regards to existing septic systems:
The town of South Windsor does not require that residences connect to the public
sewer or repair septic systems without failure at the time of a property transfer. A
failure is considered to be when sewage is backing up into the home or when sewage
is breaking out onto the ground surface. If upon inspection, septic systems are found
to be undersized or otherwise non-code compliant but are in good working order,
there is no requirement to bring the system up to current codes.
According to our records the home was built in 1938. There is no information in our files
to indicate that any repairs to the existing septic system have been conducted.
