As a result, the location of these inlets has not been changed. 4. The applicant will consider the installation of a fence around Basin#6. 5. The plan has been revised to call for a hooded outlet at CB#35. In addition, due to the 24-inch pipe size, the catch basin has been changed to a double type C. The larger catch basin size is required to facilitate installation of the hooded outlet and to allow for a vacuum truck hose to fit past the hooded outlet for cleaning of the catch basin. 6. As discussed above, catch basins with hoods have been sized in order to accommodate not only installation of the hooded outlets, but also maintenance. Where larger pipe sizes and hooded outlets are required, double type C catch basins are used to provide room for the vacuum truck suction hose to fit past the hooded outlet in order to clean-out the catch basin. There is no need to remove the hooded outlet to clean the basin. If for some reason the hooded outlet needs to be removed to access the pipe, it can simply be removed and temporarily dropped to the bottom of the catch basin while the pipe is accessed. We do not anticipate that there will be a need to remove the hooded outlets from the catch basins once they are installed. 7. The plans have been revised to show riprap aprons at the flared end inlets to basins 2, 3 and 4. 8. The grading plan has been revised to call out the 3:1 and 4:1 slopes in the basins and on the berms. 9. The Gravel Access Road will be utilized around Basin#6, and labels have been modified to match the detail. 10. The blind wye lateral connection shown is a common method of connecting a sanitary lateral into a main line. To clarify the connection, a detail has been added to Detail Sheet 26. This detail conforms to the one in the Town's Public Improvement Specifications. In addition, a cleanout has been added in the lateral. - 11. Rather than relocating SMH5, which would result in a distance between sanitary manholes in excess of 300 feet, I have added two 22.5 degree bends in the lateral so that it now terminates at the manhole. 12. The plans have been revised to call out connections using standard wye fittings and 45 degree bends rather than tees. 13. A note has been added to the Landscape Plan (Sheet 16) to call for a minimum of 6" of topsoil in the basins and all areas to be seeded. In addition, the construction sequence has been modified to call for the finish grading and permanent seeding of the basins as soon as possible once the topsoil has been stripped. However, to require the contractor to wait for the establishment of a vegetative cover in the basins prior to the continuation with earth work at the site is unnecessary. The basin does not have to be vegetated in order to 2007-058A\Response to Engineer.doc FedEx Ground Distribution Center
