Comment 26: The stormwater O&M measures for the site include all infiltration areas should be on
the plan sheets as well as in the Stormwater Report.
Response: The Stormwater O&M measures have been added to the plans.
Comment 27: Concerned about the long term function of the pervious pavement areas and thus
what the reserve capacity is in the.infiltration areas#1,2&3.Additionally,how will
both the pervious pavement and all infiltration areas work in the winter months
when there is frost on the ground and we get the typical snow melt and rain run-off
situations?
Response: Connecticut Studios is aware of the necessary maintenance required to preserve.all
infiltration areas. With the addition of the roundabout to the project, infiltration ponds were
added south of each porous pavement area. Should the porous pavement clog over time,
stormwater will flow into the ponds rather than collect on the pavement.
The University of New.Hampshire Stormwater Center has done extensive testing of the
performance of stormwater management techniques in cold climates and concludes that the
system should function as designed during winter months. A copy of their report is appended
to this document.
Comment 28: Need intersection grading plan details for both the Chapel Road and Ellington Road
driveway intersections to insure proper drainage.
Response: VHB has modified the plans to include additional spot grades at the Ellington Road
intersection.
Comment 29: There should be a good plan detail for both elevation and construction for restoration
of the sound stage court yard if said area is used for excavation purposes during
filming.Additionally, there needs to be a plan included in both the design and the
O&M plan for containment of any volatiles and/or other chemicals used in the court
yard areas or any other area on the site.
Response: Connecticut Studios will be directed to match original design plans for any restoration of the
sound stage court yard. A copy of the "Spill Response Procedure"is appended to this
document and will be provided to the contractor.
Comment 30: I did not see a detail for the Collection Basins or the Infiltration Areas. How will these
be constructed?
Response: With the exception of Infiltration Basin 1 and the Existing Infiltration Area, all collection
basins and infiltration areas will be constructed to have the same cross section as Biofiltration
