On 11106/2008 at approximately 1549 hours,I was dispatched to 401 Chapel Road,the Central Products business on a report
of a two car motor vehicle accident that occurred in the roadway. No injuries were reported to dispatch.
J Upon arrival,I met with Operator#1 who was identified by his valid CT operator's license. Operator#1 reported that he
was turning left from the west travel lane of Chapel Road and into Central Products when Vehicle#1 was struck from behind.
Operator#1 claimed no injuries. Vehicle#1 sustained evident damage to the passenger side rear bumper and also the passenger
side rear quarter panel. Vehicle#1 did not need to be towed.
I then spoke with Operator#2 who reported that she was traveling westbound on Chapel Road and did not see that Vehicle#1
was turning into Central Products. Once Operator#2 realized that Vehicle#1 was turning,it was too late,and Operator
#2 was unable to negotiate a maneuver to avoid a collision. Operator#2 stated to me,"When I saw him I put on the brakes
and slid into him"
Operator#2 did not suffer any injuries and declined medical attention at the scene. Vehicle#2 sustained evident damage
to the driver side front bumper. Vehicle#2 did not need to be towed.
