HomeMy WebLinkAboutApplication Files_82693_pg0287 During our investigation,Ofc Eckblom and I received information from dispatch that(other)Keri Mellon(DOB 15 APR 60)was ' driving by Guiles'car following the accident, and witnessed a white male place a white bag into the trunk of the car. Due to our observations upon our arrival on scene and the information received through Mellon's observations,we began questioning Guiles and Griffin regarding their suspicious activity. Griffin explained that he was drinking a beer when the crash occurred. Griffin said that he spilled the beer on his shirt, and used the towel to wipe up the mess. Griffin then stated that he ' placed the towel in the trunk after the crash. Ofc Eckblom asked Guiles if we could search the trunk of his car.Guiles appeared nervous, and would only answer the questions after pausing for an extended period of time. Guiles eventually consented to the search of the trunk and Ofc Eckblom found a white towel,a 30 pack of Natural Ice beer, and a cooler filled with Budweiser ' beer. I walked in the direction of the train tracks, and found an empty Natural Ice beer can on the ground. Guiles continued to avoid our questions, and would not admit to throwing the beer can towards the train tracks after the crash. Soon after ' Guiles admitted to throwing the beer can towards the train tracks, and stated that he did not want to get in trouble for having the beer can in,the car. , Based on the fact that the damage was to the right front of Guiles'car, that his skid marks were straight showing no evidence of an evasive maneuver,as well as the fact that LeFoll's vehicle sustained damage to the right side starting at the front passenger door,it appears that LeFoll had substantially completed her turn onto John Fitch Boulevard prior to impact. Guiles was issued an infraction for violation of C.G.S. 14-218a*-Traveling too fast for conditions, because he entered the intersection at a speed greater than reasonable with regard to the physical characteristics of the roadway in violation of the statute. Guiles was also issued an infraction for violation of C.G.S. 14-12a*-Operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Case Closed.End. 1 Report by Officer - Cleverdon.
