Vehicle#2 sustained right side damage, starting at the front passenger door. Ofe Eckblom met with the operator of vehicle#2,Gall LeFoll(DOB 17 MAR 43),who appeared visibly shaken from the accident. While being interviewed,LeFoll collapsed to the roadway, and Ofic Eckblom called for an ambulance. Oft; Eckblom then administered oxygen while waiting for the arrival of EMS. LeFoll recovered and refused to be transported by EMS to the hospital. LeFoll's vehicle was towed from the scene by CT Auto Rescue. Guiles said that he was traveling eastbound on Chapel Road approaching the intersection with John Fitch Boulevard. Guiles stated that he was traveling at approximately 30-35 mph. Guiles informed us that upon entering the intersection,he noticed LeFoll's vehicle slowly turning southbound on John Fitch Boulevard. Guiles stated that he was unable to avoid LeFoll's vehicle in part to due to oncoming traffic heading westbound on Chapel Road. Guiles told us that he should have known he was going too fast based on this particular intersection. It should be noted that due to the steep grade of the roadway on the west side of the intersection, eastbound vehicles cannot see traffic in or near the intersection until just before the stop bar. [LeFoll stated that she was making her left turn from Chapel Road onto John Fitch Boulevard heading south bound when she was struck by Guiles'vehicle. LeFoll stated that she never saw Guiles'approaching. Ofc Eckblom and I later observed skidmarks in the eastbound lane of Chapel Road. The skidmarks started approximately one car length prior to the stop line in the eastbound lane of Chapel Road at its intersection with John Fitch Boulevard. It appeared likely that the skidmarks were made by Guiles'vehicle. We later measured the skidmarks at 53 ft.8 in. The skidmarks were straight into the middle of the intersection, then deflected to the right approximately 12 inches. It appears that this was the location of impact.
