This tank was located in the far rear of the building. The soil in the grave showed no signs of contamination and was backflled. Before backfilling 5 final confirmation soil samples were collected and tested at an independent lab for CTETPH(extractable petroleum hydrocarbons). The results of the soil samples we obtained indicated that any trace of oil was Not Detected(ND)for all five samples. This letter, along with the attached soil sample results, should be stored safely with all legal documents pertaining to this property. Please feel free to call us if you have any further questions. This tank was located on the left side of the building. As you are aware,the tank was found to have been leaking upon its removal and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection was notified of the situation by telephone, case#2015-03801 was assigned. We were advised to remove and dispose of the contaminated soil and to take final confirmation soil samples. We excavated the tank grave and hauled 11.63 tons of contaminated soil to Phoenix Soils in Waterbury, Connecticut for legal disposal. Clean fill was furnished to replace the contaminated soil that was removed. Before backfilling, we collected(7)seven final confirmation soil samples and had them tested at an independent lab for Extractable Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (ETPH). All seven samples fall within the legal limit of 500 parts per million(ppm)for this groundwater area. The soil sample results are attached for your reference. The sample results are as follows: West side-non-detectable;East side-150 ppm;South side non-detectable; North side-non-detectable;Bottom#1—non-detectable Bottom #2-non-detectable;Bottom#3-non-detectable This document, along with the attached soil analysis reports, should be stored with all legal documents pertaining to this property for future reference when necessary.
