Re: Removal of Leaking Underground Storage Tank

Dear Mr. Summers,
I am'writin'g to notify you of a fuel oil release identified dais morning during the removal of
a 2,000-gallon underground storage tank at the 965.1009 Sullivan Avenue (Geissler's Shopping
Plaza)property.
GeoQuest,Inc. (GeoQuest)Oversaw theremoval of thetankfrom behindthe shopping plaza
building. Oil-contaminated soils were identified in the resulting excavation. The excavation was
backfilled pending a subsurface investigation to determine the degree and extent of the
contamination identified in this area. Remedial actions will be conducted to remedy this release once
additional information regarding the release has been determined.
The release was reported this afternoon to the Connecticut Department of Energy and
Envirobrnental Protection. It was assigned Case plumber 2014-5286,
