This letter serves as notification that there is a CVS Pharmacy in your area located at the address
above that uses and stores hazardous materials.Additionally,CVS Pharmacy would like to take
this opportunity to request support from your agency in the unlikely event of a fire, explosion, or
uncontrolled release of a hazardous waste pursuant to the State of Connecticut Hazardous Waste
Regulations Sections 22a-454-1,22a-209-17 and 40 CFR 265.37.
CVS Pharmacy uses and stores hazardous materials and also generates hazardous waste.The
hazardous materials at this facility are stored on the retail sales floor, in the receiving area and in
the photo lab. The nature of the hazardous materials on site includes flammable and combustible
liquids,flammable gasses,aerosol products,corrosive liquids,unstable and water reactive liquids,
oxidizing materials, irritants, and chemicals classified as other health hazards. CVS Pharmacy
generates hazardous waste in the form of used photo processing chemicals. In addition,
hazardous waste may be generated from severely damaged prepackaged consumer products or
accidental spills. Facility personnel work throughout the facility.
