Dear Mr. Summers,
As per our telephone conversation today, this letter addresses issues that the contractor
has been told to address for the above referenced project. He is also receiving a copy of
this letter and has been instructed to incorporate this into the scope of work on the
project.
1.) The tenant demising wall needs to be upgraded such that gaps in the top of the wall
shall be sealed with a combination of gypsum board, compound, and a top bead of
fire rated caulking for a one hour system.
2.) Any penetrations in the tenant demising wall if metallic need to sealed with fire
caulk and any larger penetrations of combustible materials (ie: plastic piping), need
to be sealed in a rated metallic jacket.
3.) The data cabling bundle that penetrate the demising wall shall be pulled and
relocated on the opposite side of the wall. The hole shall be sealed.
4.) Any louvers that open from one side of the demising wall to the other shall be
removed and the opening sealed to match the one hour wall rating.
In addition, I have instructed the contractor to have you review all the exit and
emergency lighting that exist in the facility and make recommendations if any as to
location and quantity of additional required exit and emergency lighting needed for the
proposed tenant space.
