DEEP uses this list to track the affected homes and ensure that they have either been connected to public water or have a granular activated carbon (GAC) filter system to remove ED13 from their domestic water supply. s throughout Connecticut's Central Valley including the town o o m sor. As part of a reement (EDB SA), the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is maintaining a list of properties where EDB has been detected in domestic well water at or above the state drinking water action level established by the Department of Public Health (DPH). DEEP uses this list to track the affected homes within the EDB SA within the town of South Windsor ensuring that the properties have either been connected to public water or have a granular activated carbon (GAC) filter system to remove unacceptable levels of EDB from their domestic water supply. Attached is a copy of the most recent quarterly report for the results of residential well water monito' act'c€ies in e Town of d dsor. results for , , ane New homes are added to this list as the DEEP becomes aware of them. This happens in one of two ways. Either through its own well water sampling program of existing homes considered to be at risk areas due to its location within the SA area map or on land formally used to grow tobacco where EBB may have been used or through notification from the local Health Department that well water supplying a new home within the EDB SA has an unacceptable level. In an effort to ensure that the list of affected properties is accurate, we are supplying you a,summary list of the properties DEEP is aware of in the Town of South Windsor. Please compare the homes listed against your own records to ensure that it is.complete to the best of your knowledge. We will be repeating this effort quarterly to provide an opportunity for us to reconcile our records and ensure that a property is not inadvertently left off the list. This is particularly important for those homes relying on a GAC filter system because they could be accidently be left off of the GAC Maintenance program or overlooked based on routine sampling and maintenance.
