Dear Mr. & Mrs. Sladyk:
This letter is written as a follow up to my recent conversation with Mr. Sladyk regarding your
connection to public water.
First, you will not be penalized for the work already done on your property if-you decide not to
complete the connection at this time or at all
Secondly, regarding the issue of whether or not the final work needed to connect your home to
the public water will be paid for at some future date instead of now when the project is actively
being completed; the DEP has stated that would happen only if funding for the amount
authorized by the State Bonding Commission for this project is still available when the
connection is done.
It is unknown at this time whether or not there will be funding available at some future date.

Subject: Domestic/Utility Water Service For Miller Road.
Dear,Mr.Deptula
In accordance with our conversation at the recent informal meeting held at Council Chambers in Town
Hall,we,my wife Priscille and I at 504 Miller Road,do not wish to hook-up to the public water supply at
this time.This decision is based on the fact that the present well supply,at that address,has no
contamination,which is the basis for the installation of the public water supply.
However,in accordance with statements made by all parties(You,Connecticut Water,the Contractor,and
Fuss&O'Neill)the supply connection between the water main and the property line will be installed at the
time of water main installation,by the contractor,at no cost to the home owner.I interpret this to mean that
the only thing required,at some future date,to connect to the municipal water supply will be the actual pipe
from the house to the property line.Everything else should have been installed except the meter.
Attached to this letter is your Water Service Location Form. I have indicated upon the form the location of
the well service inlet,the septic system location,and the area in which the proposed future sanitary sewer
connection will be located. The dimensions for the well service location are based on the outside of the East
foundation wall and the top of the foundation.The well itself is located approximately 20 feet from the
front of the house and somewhere between the point where the service enters the house and the East edge
of the foundation. I have also indicated that the property lines are located at the utility poles,give or take a
few inches.

As you are aware, the Town of South Windsor has retained the firm of Fuss &O'Neill to design
a water main that will serve your area. The purpose of this correspondence is to request
information from you to help with this design.
We would like information from you that will locate where you would like the new water service
line to enter your home. The Connecticut Water Company would prefer that the line enter from
the front of the home if possible, even if it may require minor plumbing modifications. It is
realized that this may not be possible in all situations. In some instances, it is least disruptive
to have the water service enter where your well water line presently enters your home.
Please remember that your home will be connected to public water gml if you abandon your
well,and that the cost of water usage is your responsibility. Also, please remember that due to
conditions or circumstances, the service line may not be able to be installed in your first choice
area.
