Dear Mr. Hogan:
This letter provides back up to the costing presented in our Report of the
Ground Water Investigation of EDB and EDC Contamination, South Windsor,
Connecticut, dated June 16, 1986. The detailed costing presented in Appendix
F is based on the information provided below; this information was obtained
either by TRC or Town of. South Windsor personnel.
Metropolitan District Commission (MDC)

Construction costs (excluding engineering) used by MDC for estimating purposes:
4-inch water line $30-35
6-inch water line $30-35
8-inch water line $45-55
12-inch water line $60-65
16-inch water line $75-85
Costed extension of water lines with 6-inch mains since State will pay for
just minimum size lines.

Labor and expenses to replace typical domestic well pump - $600. Assume cost
to be about $525 to be conservative. Assume average pump replacement after. 10
years, apply 5% inflationary cost over 10 years - capital cost is $850.
