Dear Bob:
How are you? I must say it's great to be back into the world of
environmental health, state-wise that is. My one year at the local level
in Ridgefield showed me it's tough in the trenches, but you know that.
I spoke with DEP and it seems that the owner of Trailer Village is
working on plans for a pump station to abate the overflows to the rear of
the park. This will take care of one of the park's Public Health Code
violations. I'd like to address the other in this letter, which you may
call a formal letter of complaint if you wish.
- As you know Sec. 19-13-B28(f) of the Connecticut PHC states in part
"The method of sewage or refuse disposal utilized in connection with the
operation of a mobile home park shall be approved by the local director
of health and shall be such as to create no nuisance".
Presently, the refuse is piled out in front of both park sections
in plastic bags, cardboard boxes or nothing for Monday collection.
Unfortunately, some people start piling it there on Thursday or Friday of
the preceeding week. This gives plenty of time for year round dog and
cat scavenging and vermin depredation during the warmer months.
This type of disposal is not in compliance with the code, or I
doubt, approved by you.
I hope you can take some action to abate this other code violation.
Please give me a call on this. Have a good holiday. Thanks.
Sincerely,
o
