Re: Potable Well Sampling Information 82 Felt Road South Windsor, CT 06074 Dear Mr. Burrill, On behalf of ExxonMobil, Groundwater and Environmental Services (GES), ExxonMobil's consultant, would like to thank you for allowing GES to conduct sampling of your drinking water well on November 16, 2007. The water sample from your well was tested for the presence of a number of volatile organic compounds found in gasoline, including methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) and ethanol. For your information, the tests were conducted utilizing Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved methods and a copy of the laboratory report is enclosed. The laboratory results indicate no presence of MTBE or ethanol. However, toluene 0.76 micrograms per liter (µg/L)and total xylenes (0.55 µg/L) were detected in your well water, which are compounds found in gasoline. Note that the detected concentrations are well below the Connecticut Drinking Water Standards of 1,000 µg/L and 10,000 µg/L,respectively. As you know, the tests conducted on your drinking water well are pant of an ongoing groundwater investigation being conducted in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of the Environmental Protection (CT DEP). Please note; the sampling frequency of your well, as requested by the CT DEP, is quarterly. Therefore, the next sampling event is scheduled for February 2008. Again, thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions regarding the test results or the investigation in the area, please feel free to call the toll free ExxonMobil Information Line at 1-877-346-0302 or, if you prefer, we suggest you contact Kevin Neary with the DEP at 860-424-3947 or Robert Deptula, the Environmental Health Officer for the Town of South Windsor, at 860-644-2511 ext. 248.
