Tel(860)688-9023 Fax(860)688-9278 September 18, 2007 Ms. Pauline Johnson 195 Oakland Road South Windsor,CT 06074 Re: Potable Well Sampling Information 195 Oakland Road South Windsor,CT 06074 Dear Ms. Johnson, On behalf of ExxonMobil Oil Corporation,Groundwater&Environmental Services (GES)would like to thank you for allowing GES to conduct sampling of your drinking water well on September 4 and 7,2007. The water samples from your well were tested for the presence of a number of volatile organic compounds found in gasoline, including methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE) and ethanol. For your information, the tests were conducted utilizing Environmental Protection Agency approved methods and a copy of the laboratory report is enclosed. The laboratory results for September 4t1'indicated MTBE at a concetration of 2.1 micrograms per liter(µg/L), which is well below the Connecticut Drinking Water Standard of 70 µg/L. However, to confirm these results your well was re-sampled on September 71h. The laboratory results for September 71h indciate MTBE at a concentration of 1.7 µg/L. No other compound found in gasoline was detected in your well water. As you know, the tests conducted on your drinking water well are part of an ongoing groundwater investigation being conducted under the direction of the Connecticut Department of the Environmental Protection (CTDEP).Please note the future sampling will be conducted on a quarterly basis as determined by the CTDEP. Therefore, the next sampling event is scheduled for November 2007. Again, thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions regarding the test results or the investigation in the area or if you notice changes in the taste, smell or appearance of your water, please feel free to call the toll free ExxonMobil Information Line at 1-877-346-0302 or, if you prefer, we suggest you contact Kevin Neary with the CTDEP at 860-424-3947 or Robert Deptula, the Environmental Health Officer for the Town of South Windsor. I mistakenly labelled the chain of custody to test for 8260 VOCs+MTBE+ethanol. This was actually supposed to read 524.2 VOCs+ MTBE+ethanol. I was told that this e-mail would serve as enough to change the COC,but if you need me to fax you a new one or do something more, please just send me an e-mail. Thanks!
