The water samples from your well were tested for the presence of a number of volatile organic compounds found in gasoline,including methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE) and ethanol. For your information,th tests were conducted utilizing Environmental Protection Agency approved methods and a copy of the laboratofy report is enclosed. The laboratory results for August 6th indicated MTBE at a concetration of 0.50.micrograms per liter (µg/L), which is well below the Connecticut Drinking Water Standard of 70 µg/L. However,to confirm these results your well was re-sampled on August 28th. The laboratory results for August 28th indicate no presence of MTBE,ethanol or any other compound found in gasoline in your well water. As you know, the tests conducted on your drinking water well are part of an ongoing groundwater investigation being conducted under the direction of the Connecticut Department of the Environmental Protection (CTDEP). Please note, the future sampling will be conducted on a quarterly basis as determined by the CTDEP. Therefore,the next sampling event is scheduled for November 2007. I forgot to have the sampler put that on the chain(I think she put 10-day TAT). The samples need to be RUSH TAT though.(The 11 potable well samples that is). Thank you Betty.
