The tests were conducted utilizing Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)approved methods and a copy of the laboratory report is enclosed. The laboratory results indicate no presence of MTBE or any other gasoline compound in your well water. However, the laboratory results indicate that chloromethane was detected in the drinking water samples from 291C and 291D Oakland Road at a concentrations of 0.90 parts per billion (ppb) and 0.079 ppb, respectively. No drinking water criteria has been established for this compound, however; the Connecticut Groundwater Protection Criteria (GWPC) for this compound is 2.7 ppb. Methylene chloride was also detected in the drinking water samples from 291D Oakland Road at a concentration of 3:7 pbb. The compound has A Connecticut GWPC for this compound is 5 ppb and a drinking water standard of 5 pbb. As you know, the tests conducted on your drinking water well are part of an ongoing groundwater investigation being conducted under the direction of the Connecticut Department of the Environmental Protection (CT DEP). Please note, the sampling frequency of your well, as requested by the CT DEP, is quarterly. Therefore, the next sampling event is scheduled for November 2008. Again, thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions regarding the test results,or the investigation in the area or if you notice changes in the taste, smell or appearance of your water, please feel free to call the toll free ExxonMobil Information Line at 1-877-346-0302 or, if you prefer, we suggest you contact Kevin Neary with the CT DEP at 860-424-3947 or Robert DeVito, the Environmental Health Officer for the Town of South Windsor,at 860-644-2511 ext. 248. 4Sierely, Matthew R.
