FINAL CORRESPONDENCE
As you may recall, the Town, through a potable water supply grant from the Department of
Environmental. Protection has made public water available to you. This was done because of
ground water contamination in your area due to the cultivation of tobacco and the presence of
three contaminates associated with this agricultural activity.
-Also, as you are aware, your dwelling at the above stated address has been deemed eligible to
be connected to the available public water through this grant program.
The DEP is requiring the Town to offer you this one FINAL CORRESPONDENCE to determine if
you wish to be connected to public water. The grant will pay for the connection, any necessary
plumbing work and the abandonment of your well (which must be done to receive grant
money).
Also, please be advised that this filtration system serving the property will be your responsibility
to monitor and maintain.
Failure to respond within ten (10) days of receipt of this correspondence will be interpreted as a
"no"answer, that you do not wish to be connected to public water.
