Dear Mr. & Mrs. Masciovecchio,
As you are aware, the granular activated carbon filter in your home were installed and
paid for by a Department of Environmental Protection potable water grant.
The funding for this grant program has been depleted for this type of activity; therefore
you as the property owner will be responsible for maintenance and monitoring of your
GAC filter system.
It is recommended that you have the water analyzed every six months. Samples should
be collected after the first and second filters. Raw water should also be sampled. If
exceedances are found, the filter media should be replaced by a qualified company.
