These covers have a 3-year warranty on material only,not labor. These main drain cover's should be replaced every 3-year's in accordance with their warranty. Also, in accordance with the law in the State of Connecticut,we may have recently installed of the S.V.R.S (Safety Vacuum Release System)on your pool. The system installed has a 3-year warranty on parts only,not labor. '4 According to this law,you must be certified by the A.P.S.P. (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals) as a service professional-to design this product and you must have an 4-1 or SP-2 plumbing license to install the S.V.R.S These items and your pool should be inspected every 3-years by a factory warranty center such as Rizzo Pool Company. Section 19-13-B33b(g)states in part that "Inspections shall be conducted by the director of health or his authorized agent to evaluate conformance with these regulations and to protect the public health andsafety". I have enclosed a copy of the regulation for your convenience. In an effort to ensure the pool at your establishments is safe for use and it meets with the requirements of the public health code, I am requesting that you call the office to arrange a time we could meet at the pool to conduct the required inspection. Box 392 Marlboro,CT 06447 Re: Pleasant Valley Condominium Pool located at 949 Pleasant Valley Road, South Windsor,CT 06074 Dear Mr.Grossman: On August 14,2008,I inspected the above referenced pool to determine if it is in compliance with Section 19-13- B33b of the Public Health Code.The results of my inspection revealed that the pool was found to be non- compliant in the following areas: 1. A pool test kit was not available. 2. There were no testing records available. 3. The depth marks were not on the inside of the pool. 4. There isn't a phone available. 5. The pool deck is broken,uneven and worn. 6. The make up water line is below the water level and does not have the proper cross connection device. 7. The surface skimmers have a piping set up that makes up for the unequal level of the pool and as such does not allow for proper skimming. . 8. The filtration room needs a diagram of the filtration system. 9. The filtration system piping needs labeling and arrows showing the direction of flow. It is advised that prior to conducting any major renovations that you call the State Health Department,Public Pools Section at 509-7296,and ask for Pam Scully,and discuss the renovations with her. I have reviewed the issue of not having bathrooms and showers accessible to the pool with the State Health Department and the consensus is that the 1979 original approval did not include bathrooms and showers and until such time you replace the pool they will not be required. Please make every effort to ensure the above mentioned deficiencies are rectified prior to reopening of the pool for the 2009 season.Please mark your calendar to call this office to schedule an inspection to ensure the corrections have been made in the spring of 2009.
