Enclosed for your information is a copy of the press release from the State Health
Department regarding the use of pressure-treated wood on playscapes or decks.
Also, included is a fact sheet entitled "What You Need To Know About Pesticides Used
In Pressure-Treated Wood", and a listing of alternatives to arsenic-containing Pressure-
Treated Wood.
There is no requirement that pressure treated wood no longer be used, however, it is
recommended that you follow the recommendations contained in the fact sheet to
reduce exposure.
