Re: Lot 10 & 11
Mountain View Road
Dear Mr . Deptula:
We contacted the State Department of Public Health concerning
the water supply for Mr . Cho's lot . They replied with the attached
letter .
The state notes that Hillsdale Distribution system is unable
to provide "adequate" potable water for my client.
Furthermore, the letter indicated that only lots within a 200
foot distance of a community system are mandated to connect.
Hillsdale Road is 250 feet from lots 10 & 11 . Therefore, the lot
is beyond the required distance and is exempt from being required
to connect .
No exemption is required.
Sincerely,
Kenneth J. Pudeler, P.E. , L. S .

Dear Mr. Pudeler:
I am in receipt of your 11/3/98 letter regarding a building parcel on Mountain Road in South Windsor,
CT. Your client's proposed building lots are within 200 feet of the distribution system of Hillsdale Water
Co-op and could be made to connect to the public water system according to the CT Public Health Code,
see enclosed. The system now serves 11 homes in the immediate area but has limited storage facilities and
the well pump is experiencing a diminishing pump rate. As such, this department would not mandate your
client to connect to the distribution system of Hillsdale as it is unable to provide an"adequate" supply of
potable water to your client's lot.
This office would need a letter from Hillsdale stating that they are not interested in serving anymore new
customers. I have talked to George Donahue of 1118 Sullivan Avenue who is Hillsdale's primary contact
with this department. He said he would send a letter to that effect.
Should your client wish to proceed with this well permit exception process, the contact person in this
office is Paula Pendleton. I have enclosed her business card and list of required information to qualify for
an exception.
Should you have further questions please contact this office.
Sincerely,
Clifford A. McClellan, Jr.
