Dear Sir :
I am in receipt of your November 16, 1998 letter . Attached
is the completed site plan and my letter to Mr . Deptula, the South
Windsor Environmental Health Officer . Mr . Deptula feels that your
letter requires a "well permit exception . " My position is that the
lot does not fall within 200 feet of the distribution system as
your letter assumes the closest corner of our lot is 250 feet from
Hillsdale Road right of way.
Mr . Deptula will not issue a well permit because of the second
sentence in your letter stating that the lot is within 200 feet of
the distribution system. My original letter may have been
confusing in that the neighbor 's well mentioned is a private well
servicing the house across the road from the "well pit" parcel .
Please see the attached site plan.
It is important to determine whether this house must apply for
an exception . My client wishes to move forward and your prompt
reply would be appreciated .

Dear Sir :
I have been retained by Mr . & Mrs . Cho . They wish to
construct a new house this winter on Lots 10 & 11 Mountain View
Road, South Windsor . The Cho ' s need an on-site septic system and
would like to install their own on-site well . The subdivision map
shows a 30 ' by 30 ' "well pit" parcel around the corner on Hillsdale
Road . A neighbor across the street from the "well pit" pointed out
their well in the rear of their lot ( 50 ' to 100 ' from lot 10 & 11 ) .
If there is an active water company in this area, can the
Cho ' s still get an on-site well permit?
The sanitarian requires a letter from the State before issuing
any Building Permit for this lot .
