Subject: Recovery of Costs expended from the Connecticut Emergency Spill Response Account
For an environmental incident which began on Date: 05-22-2007
Place: 45 Clinton Drive, South Windsor, CT
Authority: Connecticut General Statutes Section 22a-451
The Department of Environmental Protection has determined that you are responsible for the incident identified
above. Pursuant to Connecticut State Law, you are obliged to repay the State of Connecticut for any costs
incurred by the Department of Environmental Protection for this incident. As of the date of this letter, the
Department has expended $48,561.22, for environmental cleanup at this site. We are currently processing
additional invoices worth $31,385.64 that is not included in the amount currently requested. We hereby
request payment in full of$48,561.22. You may wish to discuss this matter with your insurance carrier.
You will also be responsible for any additional costs incurred by the Department at the incident site. If payment
of$48,561.22 is received before Friday, December 28, 2007, and any additional costs incurred by the
Department are likewise paid in full, the collection case will be closed.
If payment is not received before Friday, December 28, 2007, additional costs will be added pursuant to Public
Act 97-241. These costs include an Administrative Charge at 10%of the total amount due, plus Interest at 10%
A.P.R, plus 5% Recovery Costs. Once these costs accrue, the Department has no authority to waive or forgive
them. In any event, should you fail to contact this office in writing by 4:30 p.m. on December 28, 2007, we will
recommend referral of this case to the Office of Attorney General for litigation.
