Re: Mold in unit#69, located at#69 Cinnamon Springs, South Windsor, CT 06074
Dear Mr. Jewiak:
On June 30, 2008, I investigated a complaint to confirm water leakage that allegedly
came from your residence at 69 Cinnamon Springs, South Windsor, CT. My investigation
confirmed that your bathroom had leaked a substantial amount of water into your family
room and adjacent bedroom and into the wall that is adjacent to unit#70. Further
investigation revealed mold growth on the family room ceiling, the sliding door molding,
and throughout the second floor bathroom. The mold and the water leak(s) that has
contributed to the mold growth must be abated immediately.
The scope of your situation leaves this office no other choice than to strongly recommend
that a professional mold abatement contractor be employed to remove the mold. These
types of professionals are industrial hygienist or indoor environmental professionals who
are specifically trained in the area of indoor mold assessment and will design a
remediation plan. A list of contractors can be,found on the CT DCP website,
htlp://www.ct.goy/dcp or call 860-71306110 or 1-800-842-2649.
You must take immediate action to resolve this matter. Failure to comply and to keep this
office informed as to your intent and progress will result in orders issued by the Director
of Health.
If you have any questions, I can be reached at 860-644-2511, extension 248.
Sincerely,
Robert De Vito, R.S.
