Dear Dr. Kurien:
I have tried to contact you at your residence on several occasions but
have been unsuccessful. My reason for this was to update you as to the
drainage ditch that abuts your property.
We have examined the entire swale and found that the developer had
fulfilled his construction of same under his developer's permit. Although
we found that the pipe inlet between the Manager's property and yours had
some erosion problems, we could not blame the developer for this condition.
It is our intent, as soon as possible, to regrade and install riprap in
this area to alleviate the erosion. As far as what else can be done, I
would like to discuss with you what, if anything, you are concerned_ with,
and what, if anything, we can do to help.
Please contact my office if you would like to meet with me at your
convenience.
Very truly yours,

Dear Dr. Kurien:
Your letter was received by the Town Manager on July 10, 1980, and
since the street signs are under the Public Works Department, he
asked me to respond.
Each sub-divider is responsible for the street signs in his/her
sub-division. U & R Developers ordered all the street signs for
your area, and they were delivered three weeks ago. Upon delivery.,
the signs were incorrect, as each sign had different street names
on opposite sides. This was an error made by the sign-making company.
The signs were returned and reordered. They assured the developer
that the corrected signs would be delivered sometime during July.
I would like to thank you for your interest in this matter, and if
you have any further concerns, please feel free to contact me at
anytime.
Very truly yours,

MEMORANDUM _ June_ll,. 1981
TO: Richard J. Sartor, Town Manager
RE: 29 RAINBOW TRAIL - DRAINAGE DITCH
We have investigated the drainage ditch that Mr. Kurien complained about
in his May 18, 1981 letter to you and found the following:
1. The ditch was formed and covered by the sub-divider to the
Towns specifications. There is rip-rap the entire length,
as required.
2.1 The entrance to the culvert that goes under Rainbow Trail has
some erosion, and children have been playing in the area.
It has not been the policy of the Town to maintain all the ditches that
are built for drainage on a routine basis, as the abutting property owners
usually plant a barrier of shrubs or -trees to hide the ditch from their
view. We only repair areas that have become dangerous when reported to us
by the residents.
The following are my recommendations for this area:
1. We will repair the culvert entrance by reshaping and applying
new rip-rap to the entrance, as needed.
2. Although we do not ordinarily apply a weed killer to the
entire ditch, at some- expense to the Town, this can- be- done-.
I feel, if this is done, it will become-- a precedent and could-
become very costly_ and time consuming to the Town Public Works
Department.
I will wait for your approval before any action is taken. If you have any
questions regarding the above, please contact me at your convenience.

Dear Mr. Kurien:
Mr. Sartor has asked me to investigate and take charge of your
complaint, since the area closely borders his residence. I will
immediately see where the obligations lie, and the necessary steps
needed to correct the problems that you outlined in your letter of
May 18, 1981.
_ Please bear with me for a week or so, at which time, I will be in
contact with you to explain my findings and the action taken.
Thank you for your concern.

Dear Sir,-
I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the unsatisfactory state
of town property which is adjacent to my property at the above address. The drainage
canal, which borders on my propertyp.which is town property, looks as though the developer
did not complete the necessary work -on it. I have waited for the town to take some action
on it during the year that I have been in the town. I have now put- in a lot of time
and effort to make my yard look presentable.
I would appreciate your looking into the matter, before rain and uncontrolled
erosion makes the necessary repair work more expensive to the town and more of an eyesore
to those who live near it.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
P
7. Abraham Kurien.
