The undersigned would like an official from the town to go around and check this problem with the residents . If the survey shows that the problem should be resolved , the grant the town received from the State of Connecticut should be used in the repairs of the problem. Thank you . There was a meeting which took place in June, 1990, with residents of the Phase One area. At that meeting, it was clearly stated what the Town wanted to accomplish and any added work to the scope would be looked into at a later point in time . I had hoped the Town would put in a good faithful effort into the additional work needed around the same area. Based on old projects, calculations were done and no alternatives were incorporated into the bid because I was convinced by Steven Groves that the alternative would be too costly and would not be added. Your bids of October 11 , 1990, show that ADC Construction of Rocky Hill was a low bidder at $47, 811 . This bid is nearly half of what the Town thought the project would come to. I realize that Mr . Groves was only working with old data. Considering the information stated, I feel that the water problems on my street should now be taken into consideration, and I would appreciate this problem being put on the list of work left to be done in the same vicinity sometime in the near future . The water problem I am speaking of is as follows : Water from snow and rain from the South side of the street, across 18 Alison Drive, crosses the street and flows with water on the North of the street, and continues to flow in a Westerly direction. The water crosses the driveway of 30 Alison Drive and forms a larger puddle with the excessive water and finally, eventually reaches the catch basin on Ana Street. w If the water table is high, my pump works up to three times an hour . This situation generally lasts six to nine months out of the year. The water never dries up in front of 30 Alison Drive. in the Winter, large ice patches form in the street. My 82-year--old neighbor has fallen numerous times from the ice in front of her driveway, trying to get her mail . The blacktop condition is worsening every year in that area. I am requesting that your department look into adding a catch basin close to the property line of 18 Alison Drive. From talking with neighborhood residents, I understand your department has had a deaf ear to complaints of water problems in this area. I will not tolerate this issue being brushed under the rug. I expect a response from this letter within a two week time period. You may call me at work or at home. I look forward to meeting or speaking with you at your convenience. Sincerely,
