GENERAL CONCLUSIONS:
This water contains a moderate amount of mineral matter and would
be classed as slightly hard. (Waters in this area having a total hard-
ness below 80 parts per million are classed as soft. ) The figures for
the nitrogen constituents are moderate. The ammonia level is slightly
high, The chloride may be above normal for the area.
The physical characteristics - color and turbidity are moderate.
The water is acidic in reaction. The number of bacteria growing at 350C
is low and coliform organisms were absent in 100 ml,, of the sample tested
The sanitary-chemical and bacteriological analyses show the absence
of significant sanitary contamination.
This supply should be disinfected with two cups of household bleach
solution, allowed to stand overnight and pumped to waste until the odor
of chlorine can no longer be detected. Another sample should then be
submitted.
We would be pleased to discuss this with you at your convenience.
