John Kelly at 179 Robert Drive, South Windsor , CT cin February S, 1994 and contracted by R. K*. S. Electrical of Hart ford (phone 1-800-047- 0909) . Mr .. Kelly brought to my attention what he considered to be an unreasonably high bill f-_-r work k done at his house by a Mr . Pedro Montoya from E. R.L. Electrical of Willimantic , who had left an E.R. L. business card with him. On Friday, February 4, 1994 I called the Consumer Protection Agency tc- chec_k: on the standing of both R.K. S. Electrical and E.R. L. El ectr i cal and tc, seek: information about required electrical licenses. I spoke with 11r . Ed Collins of the Occupational Licensing Division and learned that R.F-`.S. is owned by; Mr . Steven Weinstein, Lip_ .# E104CY26 511 Links Dr. Ocean Side, NY 1 15T ; and E.R. L. Electrical is owned by, Mr . Edwin Lewis, Lip_ . # E 1222010 11 Potter St. Willimantic, CT 06266. In addition, I learned that both licenses are current but that the electrician, Mr . Montoya, is not a licensed electrician and was dispatched from R.F:.S. Electrical via E. R. L. Electrical to do work at Mr . Kelly' s home. I then contacted the South Windsor Office Of i1Ommunity Development where I spoke with a Mr . John Collins regarding this matter. He later informed me that n�� work: permit had been applied for nor granted for electrical work: at 179 Robert Dr . I stated my concern that someone might try to draw a permit to cover work: already done by a non-licensed electrician and made clear the depth to which Mr .. Kelly and myself were disturbed by this practice. It is my impression that through derreptive advertising and unethical practices both R.K. S. Electrical and E.R. L. Electrical are operating in a questionable manner. It is my sincerest wish that steps be taken t�� either confirm or deny my suspicions and to prevent future unsuspecting consumers from being subject to these kinds :if suspect practices and unprofessional companies.
