Jerry Iazzetta Town Engineer Town of South Windsor South Windsor, CT 06074 Ref: Parking lot in rear of property owned by Joseph Jones Dear Mr . Iazzetta: In response to Section 4.13.5 of the Town of South Windsor Zoning Regulations, we are submitting a letter clarifying the activity adjacent to an existing septic system. The activity proposed is . the construction of a gravel parking lot located in -the rear ,of the above mentioned property. The lot will be constructed with approximately one half foot of fill over the area. The existing drainage pattern will remain the same with minor modifications as shown on the plans . The proposed parking lot will drain from east to west and stormwater will be stored within precast concrete leaching chambers with a high level overflow. As a result of the added fill to the site, a drainage swale is proposed on the north side of the parking lot . The swale will drain into a 15" RCP to the west of the proposed parking lot . The stormwater drainage system flows along the southern property line and connects into the state drainage system along Route 30 . The exact location of the existing septic system is not known, however the septic tank was found 50 feet behind the existing house . The leaching system is assumed to be located in the vicinity of the septic tank. These locations are approximate and are shown on the proposed plans . In order to ensure the proper functioning of the existing proposed ` system, we have designed all of the adjacent stormwater drainage piping with '0 ' ring joints to assure that no exfiltration of stormwater will occur . It is our recommendation that on-site monitoring take place during the construction of the proposed storm drainage system. If you should have questions, please feel free to call . A.
