Project No.: 01768C Weather: Cloudy, 37 degrees
Date: February 7, 2002
Purpose: To perform field density testing.
Contractor Activities:
Prior to this writer's arrival, DCI placed a 12-inch lift of on site structural fill
(JGI # C 1474-01) in the courtyard area of building one. A compactive effort was applied
using a 10-ton vibratory drum roller. The soils were placed at elevation 196.
JGI Activities:
This writer observed the activities described above. The project superintendent was notified
of the results.
Four field density tests were performed on today's earthwork using a nuclear density gauge
in general accordance with ASTM D 2922. The test results indicated that the specified 95%
minimum compaction requirement had been achieved as compared to ASTM D 1557 test
methods. Please refer to the attached Field Density Test Summary for individual test data.
