Re: Application for Certificate of Appropriateness
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Bellizzi,
Thank you for attending the special meeting of the Historic District Commission on
November 21, 2002 to discuss the architectural drawings for your proposed home. As
you know, the Commission voted at that meeting to approve a Certificate of
Appropriateness, with stipulations, for your proposed home at 1544 Main Street. I've
enclosed the Certificate of Appropriateness.
The stipulations include changing the eight square windows to blend in scale and
design with the remaining double hung (rectangular) windows in the plans presented.
In addition, the corbelling on the chimney should be modified to a more classical
design on the advice of the Commission's consultant, Edward Sunderland.
We wish you the best for the construction and completion of your new house. Please
let us know if you want to make any stylistic or material changes in the plans which we
reviewed and approved at our meeting, as we need to issue separate Certificates of
Appropriateness for any additional work.
