Dear Mr.Fazlay:
At the meeting of the South Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals held on June 5,2003,the Board approved
with conditions your request for a variance to section 17.8.8(a)to allow a second building sign 1' x 7' 8"
and two canopy signs for the Exxon Quick Stop at 180 Sullivan Avenue,I zone.
The Board concluded the hardship to be as follows:
1. The shape of the lot creates difficulty for the traveling public to see the existing sign from each
traveling location.
2. The flow of the traffic on each adjacent street makes it difficult to read the existing signs.
The Board placed the following conditions on this application:
1. All other unauthorized signs to be removed from the property.
2. Placement of the canopy signs should be as follows: one is to be placed on the east side of
Sullivan Avenue and the second is to be placed on the east side of Rye Street.
3. The building sign to be placed on the building as shown on the plans.
4. The total sum of all building signs shall not exceed 57 square feet.
Any new building,or alteration/additions to existing buildings,requires a building permit prior to start of
construction.
These actions are effective upon your filing the enclosed form in the Town Clerk's Office at your own
expense.
