Re: Driveway Relocation to Clinton Drive
Dear Ms Rodrigues,
I have reviewed your request to relocate your driveway from Avery Street to Clinton
Drive and discussed this with the Town Planner and Town Assessor. We agree that
this makes sense for safety reasons and approve of this driveway relocation. The
following items must be done to relocate the driveway.
1. You will need to change your address to Clinton Drive. A new address number is
obtained by writing to John Collins, the Chief Building Official of the Town of South
Windsor and requesting an address change to Clinton Drive. You will be assigned a
low odd number, being that your neighbor is number 21 Clinton Drive. This is for
emergency services and your mail delivery and garbage pick-up will move to Clinton
Drive.
2. Your Shrubs along Clinton Drive will have to be removed or significantly cut to make
room for the new driveway and provide a clear sight line from the proposed driveway
location, at about 8.feet behind the curb, east to the comer of Avery Street and west
on Clinton Drive past your property line.
3. Your contractor will need to take out one Street Excavation Permit from the
Engineering Department and notify"Call Before You Dig" at 1-800-922-4455 before
beginning work within the Right Of Way on either street. The new driveway should
be at least 10-12 feet wide for one car width or 20 feet wide for two car width.
4. The existing driveway pavement must be removed and the entrance closed along
Avery Street. This area should be filled with 4 inches of topsoil, graded and seeded.
